Jennings Breathes Life into ‘Lame’ Lennon Tune

At least I always thought it was lame, judging from the mildly effeminate and unserious way that John Lennon delivered the vocal in the existing bootlegs. But Lennon’s scrapped song “Child Of Nature” (which he later refashioned as the endearing “Jealous Guy”) has been tackled by Mason Jennings to excellent effect.

Against all expectations, Jennings provides some pretty solid evidence that this could have been a mighty Beatles track, had the boys taken it on for real during the White Album sessions. (At a minimum, it might have rivaled McCartney’s similarly themed “Mother Nature’s Son” for a spot in the track listing.)
