Madison: I’m Going to Go See for Myself

Protesters in Madison

Me, my video camera and my friends Kirk Anderson and Nancy Brewster are packing up Saturday morning and heading to Madison to see what we can see.

I won’t be going as a participant but as an interested observer. I sense a moment in history is coming to Madison tomorrow, and I want to be there to see it for myself.

If I capture anything interesting with my video camera, I’ll edit up a little segment and show it off here in the coming days.

    Hey Kevin,
I hope the people in Madison did not disappoint. I think the fact that hundreds of thousands of people have been marching for almost a month really says something. It shows a strong commitment to each other on very human level. Not everyone on the square is a union member…I know more than a few out marching who aren’t big union fans. They march for justice…they stand shoulder to shoulder with others of different political persuasion because the know that what Gov. Walker and his Crew are trying to do is wrong. The marchers have also stayed quite peaceful, fewer arrests in 4 weeks than 1 Badger football game!! Thanks for coming to madison to see for yourself and thanks for asking a guy at a bus stop what he thought. (Sorry I couldn’t articulate very well, I get nervous in front of cameras.) I’m glad you have your friends with you to help show you around. If you have any questions about places to eat/drink etc., shoot me an email, I check in a few times per day. Stay happy and warm!! St. Pat’s Day Parade on the Capitol Square Sunday, should make for a good mix of people!!

  2. Hey, Schu! Sorry it took so long to get this comment approved. I was busy uploading video to prepare it for editing. Can’t wait to get it together.

Madison was eye-opening, to say the least. Thanks for taking the time to write in and especially for taking the time to speak to me. You were the first of 16 interviews I conducted for the video.

Thanks again. And please stop back.

  3. By the way, I did stop back for the St. Patty’s parade. Got a bunch more man-in-the-street interviews, including one with a pro-Walker man.
