Coming Monday: ‘Losing Tim’ Mini-documentary

I wanted to notify everybody that the video project I did for Adam Wahlberg’s Think Piece Publishing debuts Monday, Oct. 6. It is a short film promoting author Janet Burroway’s stunning new memoir, “Losing Tim.”
The book is Janet’s autobiographical account of the suicide of her son Tim, an Iraq War civilian contractor who became disillusioned with the U.S. engagement in Iraq and who killed himself shortly after returning home to Africa, where he was living at the time. It is a striking, heartfelt, wise account of her loss and her attempts to explain it to herself and to her readers.
“Losing Tim” is a gripping work, but one that was unable to find a home until Adam agreed to release it on his Think Piece imprint.
Our gripping, eight-minute film documents Janet’s visit to Minneapolis in August, where she did a reading at the Loft Literary Center. She sat with Adam and I for an on-camera interview the next day. Despite the difficult subject matter, Janet’s humane strength shines in every frame.
