Election Night 2012, A Visual Record

I went to the DFL election party in St. Paul, Minn., not really as a working journalist, but just to take it all in and snap a few photos. I ended up shooting more than 400.
I learned something important. It is much more fun to snap a shutter than it is to scribble notes with a pad and pen. Makes me wonder if I chose the right profession. Eh, probably.
The photo of Keith Ellison displayed here is only one of 36 images that I posted on my first ever foray onto the Flickr web site.
If you’d like to view the rest of them, I encourage you to take a quick side trip over there. Here’s the URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/klfeatherly/sets/72157631958110822/
The photo essay does a fairly good job of visually telling the story of the excitement of Democrats on that historic night.
Incidentally, with reference to my previous post, looks like I underestimated things a bit. The president took the state of Virginia and appears poised to win Florida, once the count there is complete. If that happens, Obama will have won 332 electoral votes, significantly more than the 290 I predicted yesterday before the polls closed.
