Buffalo Springfield Reuniting

I know, I’m supposed to be too young to care. But how could any Neil Young lover not be thrilled to find out that the mighty Buffalo Springfield will reform and tour this fall. I need to be there, if at all possible.

Apparently there was a one-off last fall at Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit. Someone caught a videotaped performance of the immortal “Nowadays Clancy Can’t Even Sing,” with Neil putting in a spot of lead vocal–which he wasn’t permitted to do back in the day, even though it was his tune. It was even filmed in HD. Ah, technology.

Lest anyone need reminding, the Buffalo Springfield was one of the most brilliant–and shortest-lived–of the great American bands of the 1960s. Their masterful second album, “Buffalo Springfield Again” is No. 188 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums list.
