I sat with Tom Dooher late last week, interviewing him for an upcoming Capitol Report profile, and snapped a few pictures. This one is among the nicest of the bunch.
Dooher, 49, is president of the 70,000-member Education Minnesota union, which makes him perhaps Minnesota’s most politically powerful union boss. He faces an unexpected challenge from inside his ranks in the next union election, and one big-name political insider (you’ll have to read the story to find out who) guarantees he will lose that challenge and be ousted as union president in 2013.
He may be feeling that pressure, but for now, as this photo would indicate, Dooher appears confident, relaxed and at ease.
Watch for the story (which will unfortunately live behind an online paywall–but will in reality exist, I swear) in the next issue of Capitol Report.
